Meet The Founder
THE FOUNDER
I am Ajayi Omosefe Omotayo—a storyteller at heart, a weaver of dreams, and a guide for those who seek light in the shadows. With over 15 years spent in the heart of Nigeria’s film industry, I have crafted stories not just with cameras and scripts, but with the passion that only years of dedication can ignite. My journey has been one of learning, growing, and honing the delicate art of filmmaking, where each frame is a brushstroke on the canvas of life.
As a BAFTA-certified producer, and with a Master’s in Film and Media, my roots in English Language have given me the voice to write stories that resonate and the vision to direct those stories into reality. But beyond the accolades and the films, my true calling lies in nurturing the seeds of potential that lie dormant in the hearts of young people.
Followspots is more than a group; it is a movement, a beacon of hope in a world where education is often a luxury. For over 14 years, we have opened doors for thousands, not just teaching them to excel in their craft, but lifting them when the weight of financial and emotional burdens threatens to break them. Our mission extends to the polytechnic institutions and colleges of education across Nigeria—places that too often go unnoticed and unsupported.
Through the work we do, we strive to illuminate paths for those who may otherwise walk in darkness. We dream of reaching every corner of Nigeria, to touch lives with the power of education and the warmth of human support. In this vast, polyethnic landscape, I find my purpose in giving back, in sowing seeds that will grow into the next generation of leaders, creators, and dreamers.
This is my story. This is my mission. And this is the legacy I hope to leave behind.
